Early last summer, customer Dianne Jenkins decided to purchase a playhouse for her two beloved grandsons. She had no idea at the time that her playhouse project would soon take on a life of its own, becoming a very rewarding project for her and her grandkids. Over the past few months, together the family has fashioned an elaborate yet cozy retreat that many folks would find as comfortable as any home.
In the beautiful New England countryside, among three acres of woods surrounding the residence, the perfect space was designated and cleared - to showcase the log playhouse. Dianne's grandsons, ages 8 and 9, were thrilled about the project from the start and contributed to the planning. |

Working with one of our helpful Spirit Elements Design Consultants, Dianne ultimately chose an 11'6" wide by 16' long modular log cabin from the many custom sizes we offer. Her specialized purchase is a full-sized log cabin with standard height 86" tall walls and an 11' tall vaulted ceiling so her growing boys will continue to play in it for years and years to come!

Dianne also chose the popular loft option so the boys can climb as boys like to do. We customized the loft with a small window that provides the boys with a "look-out" window. Two standard roof dormers deliver ample natural light into the main room and contribute an airy quality to the building. Our country-style 4' covered front porch and deck with rails was also included in her package. |
Her pre-assembled log house was successfully delivered in early July and, in her case, was rolled off the truck and onto her prepared foundation site. Our modular playhouses arrive ready for - children's play - but Dianne's nesting nature took over and she was immediately filled with creative ideas on how to decorate it and make it even more like a miniature home.
She bought a light for the outside front door and rugs for the floor. As many customers choose to do, she too had the house wired for electricity and insulated the walls. She selected knotty pine paneling to cover the walls yet still retained the naturally - rustic looking interior. Next, she sourced an electric fireplace with logs, a heater and a compatible remote control at a yard sale and installed it into the log house. |

Piece by piece, other personalized amenities began filling the playhouse, such as a small refrigerator, a TV, and ceiling fan! The whole family experienced great joy in adding to the comforts of their new little home in the woods. To add further western authenticity and creative play to the rustic house, Dianne even found the boys a buckboard wagon.
