For the second year in a row, a fully-assembled log cabin supplied by Spirit Elements is being showcased as Santa's Workshop on the Ellipse in Washington DC. The workshop was doubled in size for the 2009 display with Spirit Elements providing the addition.

Visitors to the 11' x 48', 528 square foot preassembled custom log cabin will have their pictures taken with Santa Claus while receiving home safety tips - all courtesy of Underwriter Laboratories. Santa's Workshop is part of an extraordinary holiday display that includes The National Christmas Tree and the

Christmas Pathway to Peace, located on the Ellipse in Washington D.C. Every year one-of-a-kind ornaments are made by ordinary Americans to hang on 56 trees on the Christmas Pathway to Peace - one for every U.S. state, territory and the District of Columbia - that surround the National Christmas Tree. Other attractions include the National Christmas Tree Railroad, Nativity Scene and Yule Log.

Organizers are expecting thousands of people from all over the country to visit Santa's Workshop during this holiday season which began December 3, 2009 with the Lighting of The National Christmas Tree. This year's National Christmas Tree will be the most energy efficient tree to date and is 50% more efficient than the 2007 tree - coinciding with the theme of electrical safety and efficiency.

Santa's Workshop is open December 5th through December 24th during the following hours:

Monday to Thursday: 4:30 - 6:30pm and 7:00 - 9:30pm
Friday to Sunday: 12:30 - 4:30pm, 5:30pm to 9:30pm
Christmas Eve: 12:00 - 3:00pm
